Undergone Tattooing in Dehradun- Here’s My Tattoo Story

I’ve always been curious about getting a tattoo. I still remember when I used to request one of my friend- Aditi (her art is just wow) to draw different beautiful shapes on my forearm. I, then flaunt that with an attitude on my face. I still have that photograph saved with me! Many a time I myself used to draw the letter of someone’s first name below the edge of my palm and kept hiding it from others. Hahahaha the stupid childhood things!

A place is known closely by the Food it serves. When visiting any city, most of us explore the places that serves the best dishes and are highly recommended to try by locals and other travelers. My city, Dehradun is known for serving diverse food options from Chinese, Tibetan to local pahadi cuisines. The hilly city has a number of restros and famous food joints that serves diverse cuisines enough to make you drool.

We all love going out and eating, especially at the places that have earned the “legendary” tag or have grabbed popularity by word of mouth. In my opinion, taste is something that only matters irrespective of how hyped the food place is! What might be good to one, could be average for another’s palate.

Kumars Sweets and Restaurant

Being known as one of the biggest home grown Sweet shop of Dehradun, Kumar Sweet shop is like a shopping complex serving almost every sweet you can imagine. The shop is said to be established in the year 1948 as a small Mithai shop near the Clock Tower. Today it has 50+ franchise outlets in Dehradun and nearby cities and is known as the top player in the category Sweet Shops in the Dehradun. But is it worth giving this title? With so many competitors offering unique specialties at much genuine rates, Kumar’s has lost somewhere in the market now.

Dear Home,

I see your photographs over my device screen almost daily. It comforts me so much watching you from different angles, zooming every aspect of you. I feel the urge to stare at you a little longer every time and I can’t help myself. You’re beautiful.. exactly the way I dream of.  Most of my friends say “You’re lucky to have a place like this to call Home and come back to.”  Come back to…? Well, I couldn’t agree to this more.

I left you in search of my own House and I am still wandering around to find one.

As I write to you today, far away from your warm embrace, things are different here, I repeat very different and so am I. I am getting to see the sides of me I never knew I had. I am a whole being here, different, living off like a new page with a different colored ink to write with, all over again.

Today, as I write to you, dear Home, I want you to know that I miss you badly, I miss the comfort you gave me all these years.

Today, I’ve had no choice but to keep missing you. I am blessed to have you, a place to call Home and a place to go back to; but Not to stay.

Here’s How we Celebrated Our 1st Wedding Anniversary @AB’s Noida

So, we did it!! Completed 1 year successful together! There have been high highs and low lows, and here we are – a year of marriage in the books.

February 23rd was our 1st wedding anniversary. We have been married for one year. Time really flies. I can remember those moments- shopping at Paltan Bazaar, looking out for wedding venues around the city.. like it was literally yesterday.

Everyone wanted to let me know that marriage is really hard and that we would be more in love as the years went on than we were right then. Its high time I must admit that this year I learned they were correct.

Marriage is indeed hard. Just like anything worthwhile in life. For us, 2019 was more of a roller coaster ride. This year we have seen each other’s flaws and imperfections and know each other better for it. Even after knowing him for 7 years, there were so many shades to his character (and vice-versa) I had yet to discover. Now that we had started living together, we are getting familiar with each shade of ours. We disagree often. We fight, infact most of the time. We are both very stubborn and dislike admitting when we are wrong.

I found him at his best in our bad times and sometimes not even saying a bit supporting me when it was most required. There were days we have fought (okay, I fought and he stayed silent) but for now its impossible to imagine my life without him.

India’s First Wish Grill Restro- Absolute Barbecues Launches its Outlet in Noida 62

This week I visited Absolute Barbecues- India’s first wish grill restaurant that serves you different varieties of meat from Rabbit, Emu, Quail to Squid, Shark and Octopus.

With their first outlet launch in Noida at sector 62, Absolute Barbecues has a mesmerising interiors- a large space decorated with an orange color theme with excellent lighting. I literally felt like entering as a busy American diner. ABs has four counters in total — the wish grill, the bar (they are yet to receive their alcohol serving license), the dessert counter and the main course buffet veg/nonveg. Below is my in-depth review for the place.

The Food

Wish Grill

AB undoubtedly goes a step further by offering a menu with exotic meats. The ‘wish’ grill is more like a stir-fry counter than a grill where you have a choice to select your favourite meat from Rabbit, Emu, Quail, Squid, Shark Octopus, your choice of veggies and the selection of rice or noodles. After you select, they will prepare your bowl stir frying your selection with your favourite sauces and spices. Don’t worry if you are a vegetarian. There are a variety of ‘wish grill’ choices available for veg ones too.
