Angeethi, Nehru Colony Dehradun

Tandoori Momos to die for!! The place has been shown to me by one of my office friend. I wonder how could I miss such a hidden gem that too when its just 1.5 km from my house?

We had paneer masala tandoori momos and it tasted heavenly delicious. The full plate has 7 big pieces of tandoor momos accompanied with marinaded onion salad and two types of chutneys- red & green. The smokey flavor will give you an imagination if you are feasting upon a big chunk of tandoori chicken.

At Angeethi, you will get momos with all range of fillings from veg masala, paneer masala to Chicken & cheese momos. The restro may be lost among most of the big & small joints located at busy high profile areas of Rajpur-Ghantaghar. Previously, I had Lakme 9 to 5 Tanjore rush color pallet that has beautiful highly pigmented shades of olive green, purple, copper & gold. The colors left me with confidence & an appreciation from people around. I brought it from Ebay online paying just 430 RS (MRP being 550).

Maybelline’s this Eye pallet has the subtle colors that may otherwise not appear to be pigmented enough to get the attention of people around. It leaves a shimmery effect though. If I have to choose between the two, I would like to stick with the Lakme one.

Coco Rico is a Fine Dinning Restaurant of Hotel JSR Continental located at Rispana Bridge, Dehradun. The courteous staff, the beautiful ambience & their exceptional food is what all describe this restaurant. Hotel JSR has already added charms in my engagement ceremony held last month; the hangover of the moment still driving me high :o. My Dinner at Coco Rico

I had a weekend dinner with one of my friend at Coco Rico and the experience is just awesome. Here is what we have ordered:

• Chicken Seekh Kabab in starters
• Greek Salad
• Mutton Rogan Josh & Garlic Butter Naan as Main course
• Hot stuffed Gulab Jamun with chocolate ice cream in Dessert

The tender juicy chicken seekh kababs just stole our hearts away. Perfect mix of spices, well presented plate & the sided green mint chutney had already triggered our hunger.

Me & My Sister’s Engagement at Hotel JSR Continental, Dehradun

22 April 2018 is the date when I’m officially engaged to the man I wholeheartedly love. The 5 years relationship (we were classmates during our MBA-2012-14 at Uttaranchal University)  has acquired a stage where we will continue a new journey holding each other’s hands. The day bears another importance since its the same day when my beloved sister Reena also got engaged to her man Mayank. I feel pleasure in penning down this beautiful ceremony of both of us that went so well; filled ourselves with the positive vibes, joy and an incredible bond.

The description goes below for the Venue, preparations, deciding the menu/guests, shopping and the final day.

Preparations

Buying the Rings & Jewelry

We chose Kamal Jewellers in selecting the best ring for him & jewelry for both in-laws. In our total 3 visits, we purchased gold earrings & gold ring for both parents (my & my sister’s in-laws). To my next visit, we booked two gorgeous rings for our men-Alok & Mayank. The one I selected for Alok has a white & gold vertical patches with 4 diamonds in between. The other one for Mayank was a white gold ring with yellow gold designer strip and 9 diamonds in between. The whole jewelry at Kamal Jewelers costed us 1.5 lacs.

Shopping for Gifts & Clothes

Our whole shopping was done from Rangoli Dreams- a whole sale women & men wear shop at Paltan Bazar, Dehradun. We purchased Raymond shirt pant gift box for both in-laws men relatives & Sarees for women. Our mother-in-law’s saree was chosen by my sister. It was an awesome Chennai Silk Saree purchased from Bangalore itself.

Dress & Accessories Selection

I didn’t want to select a dress without the consent of my sister, so we decided to shop after she arrives Dehradun on 15 April. Eventually in between she did visit the commercial market in Bangalore and found amazing collection of party wear lehangas. She sent me pictures of some of them and we decided to go for them. The dress we selected was a simple velvet material lehanga choli with golden and peach embroidery on the bottom of the lehanga and choli. The attire is complemented with a peach colored netted duppatta. The same pattern was purchased by my sister, color being Bottle Green for Lehanga, Choli with multicolored embroidery and light green colored dupatta.

We kept the accessories simple and gone for a not so heavy earrings & Mang tika from Paltan Market. Complemented the rest with matching beaded & sparkling Bangles.

We started off ours by ordering some staff recommended soups: Minestrone, Hot n sour and Manchow. Then came the Starters- totally lip smacking with the gorgeous presentation ever. My recommended starters that you should not miss:

Our next dish was from Italian section. Veg & Non Veg Pizzas! You must be wondering what’s new in ordering an ordinary pizza. Well, its not ordinary! It’s a Chicken Pizza with Fire shots of Vodka. Yes, Vodka is poured over these perfectly squared chicken pizzas and is set on fire. The flames and burnt alcohol add a delicious smokey flavour to the pizza with a tinge of bitterness because of Vodka. Well, this typo pizza is a complete a surprise for the town! So how many of you dare munching on a pizza set on Fire before served? 😉

Best Buddy’s Restro @ Doon will Bring You Back to Your School Days| My Review

Best Buddy’s-A perfectly located Restro with exceptional taste, delightful Ambience & impeccable service! The restro is located between Survey Chauk & Crossroad mall. Their Mega Menu is a complete journal that holds the interest of even the most discerning diners.

Best Buddy’s Cafe & Restro is the best option if you want to go back to your school days. Its just perfect for a couple, a family celebration, a small get-together or hangout with friends. We were a group of 10 friends who decided to give this growing cafe cum restro a try! We spent atleast 4 hours there and I am gonna pen down my whole experience out there:

Ambience

Superb ambience! The moment you enter there fills you in complete positive vibes. The interior will remind you of your school days- all the walls occupied with some quirky thoughts & posters! Every corner of the restro was done to perfection and I do not think over giving full on marks for that!

Salads

We started with their two most appealing salads- Greek Salad & Apple Walnut Mix Leaf Salad. Crisp lettuce, the savoury flavour of diced green apple, and crunchy walnuts covered in a creamy dressing is what all describes the latter salad on our plate. The portions were generous!

In this post I have compiled a review of few Hookah Lounges of the city that has gained a lot of identity over few months. If you are an outsider & looking for the one, these places must be on your check list!

Three Pyramids

One of the most amazing Hookah Bar in Dehradun located just in front of Silver City, Rajpur Road. I have been here for apprrox 4 times, the experience being exceptional. They have a wide varities of Hookahs on their menu: differnt flavours- pan grape, apple, etc. and various options for base from milk, vodka to simply water.

They do serve beers. Though dining & snack items are a bit expensive and the taste too was not up to the expectations.

My recommendations: Try this place with your best buddies just for amazing Hookah experience in the town!

BMG- All Day Dining

The restro serves amazing multi-cuisines with a presentation that will steal your heart. You can make a choice for your drinks from mocktails to cocktails. The outside sitting arrangment is there for Hookah lovers.

Location: Jakhan, Rajpur Road Before Pacific Mall.

My recommendation: Sangria (Red wine), their exotic Vodka Mojito, Hukkas, Chicken Malabari Paratha.
